USA - Texas - Houston - Rice University - Center for Biological & Environmental Nanotechnology - Professional Master's in Nanoscale Physics
Non-thesis master's degree combining the study of quantum theory and practical nano- and mesoscale devices with some instruction in management and policy.
Full-time students start in the fall to complete three semesters at Rice and a 3-6 month industrial internship.
Working professionals may enroll as part-time students in fall or spring, and may complete a project in lieu of the internship.
Entry Requirements
• B.A. or B.S. degree in physics, electrical engineering or a related field
• Completed course work in scientific calculus, differential equations and linear algebra.
• Completed course work in quantum physics comparable to Rice's PHYS 311.
• Completed course work in statistical mechanics is preferred, but not required
• Completed application (apply on-line)
• Four letters of recommendation
• General GRE scores (use the code 6609 for Rice; do not worry about a department code)
• Official transcripts from all universities attended
• TOEFL scores (if required)
