NEW ZEALAND - Christchurch - University of Canterbury - Advanced Semiconductor Devices (ENEL641)

ENEL641 - Advanced Semiconductor Devices (Half year paper: 12 Lectures, 1 Review paper and presentation and 1 Test)

The purpose of this course is to introduce you to some important advanced semiconductor devices, and to discuss their properties in relation to the more conventional devices that you will have encountered.

In particular this course will:
1. Review the basic electronic properties of semiconducting materials;
2. Describe in detail the design and operation of a number of different optoelectronic devices: light emitting diodes, laser diodes and photodetectors;
3. Describe the fabrication, operation and functionality of other advanced semiconductor materials and devices. (February to June)

Entry Requirements
ENEL641 - Prerequisite: Undergraduate Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or related discipline.
