USA - Massachusetts - Boston - Harvard University - Materials Research Science & Engineering Centers (MRSEC) & Nanoscale Science & Engineering Centers (NSEC) - Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU)

Our Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program is a mechanism for integrating a broad spectrum of undergraduates into materials research, nanoscience and engineering.

  • Many undergraduates get their first exposure to science and engineering research via this highly successful program.
  • At least 50% of the participants each summer are chosen from outside Harvard, and we recruit women and minority students through faculty visits to other institutions.
  • Each REU student defines and sets up the program necessary to accomplish the ten-week summer project and most projects benefit from the Centers' shared experimental facilities.
  • REU students write project reports and give an oral presentation at the final summer seminar.
  • Follow-up written evaluations and interviews are taken with each participant.

The stipend for the MRSEC/NSEC 2004 REU program will be $5000.00

Applications close:
Friday, February 27, 2004
