USA - New York - Ithaca - Cornell University - Nanobiotechnology Center - Tri-Sci Club
Tri-Sci Club is organized by Nanobiotechnology Center(NBTC) at Cornell to stimulate girls' interest in science and engineering. It provides role models for girls interested in science and engineering careers and encourages interscholastic interactions between girls with similar interests and abilities. It also provides an opportunity for girls to interact with leading scientists and engineers in nanobiotechnology.
Philosophy:
The members of the club, representing three rural school districts, selected the name "Tri-Sci." Anna Waldron, Education Coordinator for the NBTC, says the name is appropriate not only to represent the schools, but also "to encourage girls to explore three subjects that are a focus for the club: math, science, and engineering. Through this club, we hope to stimulate girls' interest in these disciplines at this important developmental stage."
