USA - Minnesota - Rosemont - Dakota County Technical College - CSEM Scholarships, Nanotechnology

CSEM Scholarships

We are very excited to be able to offer this scholarship to students who are enrolled in the following program: NanoTechnology.

Dakota County Technical College was one of 65 (out of 220) in the nation chosen to award these scholarships. CSEMS (Computer, Science, Engineering, and Mathematics Scholarships) is a program funded by the National Science Foundation. If you qualify, you may receive up to $3,125 per year to help defray the cost of education and your living expenses.

How do you qualify?
You must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a United States citizen, national, refugee/asylee, or lawful permanent resident at the time of application.
  • Be enrolled full-time (at least 12 credits per semester) at DCTC and have declared a CSEMS program major.
  • Demonstrate academic ability or potential.
    Ability will be determined by: a) minimum entrance grade point average of 2.5 (or demonstrated academic ability), b) letter of recommendation from teacher/faculty member or employer,c) essay stating applicant’s educational goals and long-term plans for employment, d) scores from Computerized Placement Test (CPT, also known as Accuplacer), and e) personal interview.
  • Demonstrate financial need as defined by the U.S. Department of Education rules for Financial Aid. (This is determined by your responses on the Free Application for Federal Financial Aid – FAFSA, and a calculation of the difference between the Institutional Cost of Attendance, the Estimated Family Contribution, and other financial awards.)
  • Complete both the DCTC Scholarship Application and the CSEM Scholarship Application.
  • Be willing to work with a mentor.
  • Be willing to participate in a cohort group composed of other CSEM Scholars.
