Optical properties of individual nanowires will be studied by macro- and micro-photoluminescence, time-resolved luminescence as well as scanning near-field optical microscopy. Depending on the candidates interest part of the project can also be devoted to processing and characterization of nanowire devices, such as nanophotonic light emitters and sensors.
The candidate will work in a rich scientific environment through collaborations with other departments at the university, the “NTNU-NanoLab” (http://www.ntnu.no/nanolab/index.php) as well as foreign collaboration partners (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL), Lausanne and Linköping University, Sweden), from where the candidate will benefit from a strong and multidisciplinary training.

Job Requirements: |
We seek highly motivated individuals holding a PhD degree in physics (specialized in semiconductor physics or optics), physical electronics or other relevant disciplines. The candidate should have experience from optical characterization of semiconductor nanostructures (e.g. nanowires, quantum dots). Experience from growth and processing of nanostructure materials and devices is an added advantage.
