Said materials will be used in micro-fuel cell systems in support of multiple customer requirements. In parallel with this effort, continue to encourage fundamental research in next generation areas including, but not limited to thin-film processes, lamination materials, thermal transients and electrochemistry. •Develop and use thin-film analysis tools and analytical models in an effort to predict fluid dynamic properties and improve 3_D structural characteristics and fuel cell performance. Design and develop new test techniques that will determine scalable fundamental parameters that are applicable to the commercial units. •Demonstrate a clear understanding of user requirements and user benefits, preparing research proposals, develop plans to effectively and efficiently test ideas, calculate expected results, analysis and synthesis of results, generate and evaluate new designs and applications, developing forming capability with third party vendors and managing these relationships, manage technical plans and collaborations. •Plan and coordinate activities in support of both short-term and long-term product research needs.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications: The Principle Scientist will possess a broad technical background in multiple areas such as nanoreactors, fluid dynamics at the sub-micron level, 3-D structure from anisotropic thin-films, surface physics and chemistry, interfacial science, and heterogeneous catalytic reactions. This individual will be characterized as a person well respected in their current role who has developed a proven track record and thrives in an organization with constantly evolving technology and products. A critical factor in the success of this seasoned individual will be their ability to collaborate ideas from a variety of technical experts in the process of solving complex challenges. Specific qualifications include: •Highly regarded technologist possessing a minimum of 10 years experience in a commercial or research environment. •A background in guiding a complex technology based product that is nano sized in scale, electrochemical in nature, thermally demanding, and reveals high density and complex fluid dynamics through research and development. This person must also project a clear understanding of what it takes to commercialize technology. •Extensive experience in technical program management and the ability to multi-task in a highly complex and dynamic technical environment. •Demonstrated ability to proactively and positively communicate with internal and external partners. Experience in supervising and working with lab technicians and peers within a multidiscipline team. •Advanced Degree n Physical Chemistry, Applied Physics or related field.
