Job Description: |
Description: Seeking a senior level scientist or engineer that is highly skilled in the following aspects of MEMS: design, modeling, fabrication and packaging. The candidate must have a MS or PhD in physics or related field and must have at least 5 years experience in MEMS. The successful candidate will model, design and prototype next generation MEMS products for the new Optical Internet. Responsibilities include technical leadership for future MEMS designs, working with MEMS fabrication vendors, component & system-level testing and improving performance and yield of current products. |
Job Requirements: |
• At least 5 years experience in MEMS design & modeling, including:
o Modeling of actuation mechanisms and inherent device characteristics
o Design tolerancing based on product requirements and fabrication capabilities
o Completed designs delivered using L-Edit or other mask layout editing software
• At least 5 years experience in MEMS fabrication & packaging, including:
o Device fabrication from silicon & SOI substrates
o Process control & uniformity over high aspect-ratio structures
o Wafer bonding
o MEMS fabrication process integration
o Design Verification Testing
o MEMS packaging technologies
• Proven track record working with vendors to insure on-time development cycles
• Strong device failure-analysis & trouble-shooting skills
• Able to work well in a multi-disciplinary team
• Strong leadership skills

Other desired experience:
• Optical component characterization & design
• Software tool development (VB, C/C++, Excel, etc.) for use in data analysis
• Good budgeting and project planning skills
• Good presentation skills
• Strong grasp of component inter-dependencies and their effect on System performance
