Job Description: |
The Norwegian Research Council and the American National Science Foundation is financing a new project on nanostructured thin films for hybrid solar cells. The main objective of the project is to establish an improved understanding of organic/inorganic interfaces and to engineer interfaces that promote efficient organic/inorganic solar cells. The candidate will be involved in the controlled growth of planar and nanostructured (nanorods/nanowires) oxide thin films (ZnO and other oxides) by pulsed laser deposition (PLD). The organic/inorganic materials will be analysed by TEM, Auger spectroscopy and other techniques (XRD, SEM, AFM). Optical properties will also be studied by photoluminescence techniques as well as scanning near-field optical microscopy.
This project is done in close collaboration with SINTEF Materials and Chemistry (Trondheim) and also with the Colorado School of Mines (USA) where the student will have the opportunity to work for six months.
The appointment is at code 1017, salary level 43-58 in the national salary scheme, gross NOK. 325.600 to 423.800 per annum (1 NOK ~ 0.125 EUR), of which 2% is deducted for the State Pension scheme.
Interested candidates are encouraged to contact Professor Helge Weman by e-mail (helge.weman (at) iet.ntnu.no) or look at the web-page (www.iet.ntnu.no/~weman/positions.html) for further information. DEADLINE: June 25, 2007. |
