Job Description: |
Two openings for a PhD candidate are now available within the Micro and Nano Manufacturing Laboratory at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). This laboratory is housed within in Microsystems Engineering Ph.D. Program, with close ties to the industrial and national laboratories. The Microsystems Engineering Ph.D. Program is the first of its kind in the nation. This multi-disciplinary program builds on the strengths in micro and nano electronic fabrications, photonic, imaging and micro-power research programs at the institute. The program is designed to be application oriented without sacrificing the scientific and engineering fundamentals. |
Job Requirements: |
Candidates with a M.S. degree in biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, material science, mechanical engineering and electrical engineering are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate should be motivated and independent, and enjoy a stimulating multidisciplinary research environment. |
Extra Information: |
Our laboratory focuses on microsystem integration for biomedical and energy applications. We have a state-of-the-art laboratory and nanofabrication facility. The position will involve design, manufacturing, analyzing and optimizing laboratory experiments on IC/MEMS fabrication techniques, nano lithography, nano/microfluidics, electrokinetics, various measurements (e.g. AFM, SEM, TEM), characterization, data acquisition and analysis, depending on the candidate’s background.
