Job Description: |
The job will include advancement if internal modeling capability with both existing and new software platforms, and collaboration with external modeling partners. Current modeling technology includes empirical models, CFD, and Monte Carlo based simulations. To optimize the thermal modeling, the modeling engineer will work closely with the mechanical engineers to understand and optimize mechanical design and material selections.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Molecular flow model development using multiple software packages.
• Empirical validation, and model refinement based on empirical results.
• Coordination of 1) external model development through funded partnership 2) university funding for specific model enhancements and validation.
• Collaborative design with engineering to define optimal hardware and electrical systems to deliver the optimized model results.
• Interface with customers to understand and improve modeling results.
• Development of intellectual property including writing patent disclosures and identifying trade secrets.
• Define and perform tests to verify designs.
• Other duties may be assigned. |
Job Requirements: |
• Minimum BS Degree in one of the following: Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering; Material Science or Physics.
• Advanced degree will be an advantage.
• Minimum 2 years experience in modeling of real systems.
• Experience with analytical and statistical modeling. Monte Carlo techniques and Cosmol experience preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Microsoft Office, MathCAD. |
